From stress-induced illness to vibrant wellness—a family’s remarkable journey

Do you feel like the pressures of modern life are becoming almost too much to bear? The demands of competition, work, and daily responsibilities leave many people physically exhausted and emotionally drained.

Today’s story features a mother and daughter who rediscovered health and happiness through Bai Yin Qigong. The mother, Fuzhi, is 81 years old and still full of vitality. Her daughter, Mengjie, began learning Qigong at age eight and has experienced tremendous benefits throughout her life.

Their journey shows how Qigong can improve health, overcome physical challenges, and transform lives.

A Mother’s 30-Year Transformation

The Life Before Qigong

At 81 years old, Mother Fuzhi still looks energetic and vibrant, with glowing skin. But this wasn’t always her reality.

Before encountering Qigong, Fuzhi lived the life of a traditional woman, carrying tremendous responsibilities toward her family. She constantly worried whether she was meeting everyone’s expectations. This pressure left her physically and emotionally exhausted. She would even secretly cry at night.

The toll on her health was severe. Her prolonged mental stress manifested most noticeably as thyroid problems. Her entire body remained in a constantly tense state.

“My body was constantly in a highly tense state. It wasn’t until I encountered Qigong that things finally began to change.”

The Turning Point

When Fuzhi discovered Qigong, something shifted. Thirty years of consistent daily practice transformed her life.

She recalls:

“After practicing every day, I feel as if I have gained new energy. No matter how tired I was before, after practicing I can start afresh.”

Qigong helped her release years of accumulated stress and enabled her to rediscover a relaxed, joyful, and fulfilling life.

What Actually Changed

Before: Serious, rarely smiled, constantly tense, battling thyroid problems

After: Relaxed, smiling often, enjoying life, vibrant health at 81

She emphasizes:

“I used to be serious all the time and rarely smiled. But after practicing Qigong, I learned how to relax and smile, and life became easier and more enjoyable.”

Today, affectionately known as “Senior Sister,” Fuzhi serves as a teaching assistant and role model for many students—living proof that it’s never too late to transform your health.

A Daughter’s Journey from Childhood to International Recovery

Learning Qigong as Play

Mengjie’s story begins early. She started learning Qigong in second grade, at age eight. At that time, Qigong felt more like a fun game to her. She described the classes as lively and exciting, filled with people experiencing spontaneous qi movements and enthusiastic children.

Because of this joyful introduction, she didn’t take Qigong very seriously at the time. It was only after she grew older that she gradually realized the profound impact Qigong could have on health.

Crisis Abroad: Stress-Induced Hair Loss

While studying abroad in Italy, Mengjie faced tremendous pressure and challenges that led to serious health problems. The overwhelming stress caused all of her hair to fall out—a condition that dealt a severe blow to both her physical and emotional well-being.

Her life seemed completely overwhelmed by stress. But she didn’t give up.

Each time she returned home, both Masters would encourage her to continue practicing Qigong. Their encouragement became an important source of strength that helped her regain her health.

Recovery Through Practice

Mengjie shared that Qigong became her lifeline during the most stressful period of her life.

“Being alone in a foreign country, fortunately I had Qigong to give me strength and help me recover my health.”

Every time she returned to Taiwan and resumed Bai Yin Qigong classes, something remarkable happened: her health would gradually begin to improve. With continued practice, her hair slowly grew back, and her physical condition steadily improved.

She recalled:

“After practicing Qigong, my body recovered faster than I had imagined. Qigong truly helped me regain my confidence and my health.”

How Qigong Works: The Master’s Explanation

Understanding the Stress-Thyroid Connection

Master Yin Quan provided professional insight into why both mother and daughter experienced such dramatic improvements. He explained the connection between emotional stress, the liver meridian, and thyroid problems.

Long-term emotional stress affects the functioning of the liver meridian, which directly impacts thyroid health. This is why both Fuzhi’s thyroid issues and Mengjie’s stress-induced hair loss responded so well to Qigong practice.

EnerQi: Opening the Liver Meridian

EnerQi specifically focuses on opening the liver meridian and helping regulate the flow of qi and blood throughout the body. For people experiencing high levels of stress and emotional fluctuations, practicing EnerQi effectively helps relieve stress and improve overall health.

Master Yin Quan explained that this is why EnerQi was so effective for students like Fuzhi and Mengjie:

“EnerQi helps people feel relaxed, comfortable, and joyful. After practicing every day, you feel light and refreshed, and life becomes more energetic.”

HarmonyQi Stress Relief Technique: Fast Relief for Modern Life

Beyond EnerQi, Master Yin Quan also introduced the HarmonyQi Stress Relief Technique, specifically designed for the fast-paced lifestyle of modern people.

Mengjie shared that when facing demanding work schedules and life pressures overseas, she would use the Internal Sound Vibration Technique to quickly ease her anxiety, helping her regain inner calm within a short period of time.

Master Yin Quan noted that many people working in high-pressure environments—in the technology industry, office professionals, busy parents—can use the HarmonyQi Stress Relief Technique to quickly relieve stress and improve their overall well-being.

The Mind-Body Connection

Master Yin Quan emphasized an important principle:

“Practicing Qigong is not merely a form of exercise. It is a scientific method that helps us regulate and harmonize both body and mind.”

This is the key to why Qigong works where other stress-relief methods often fail. It addresses not just the body or just the mind, but both together.

What Their Stories Reveal

The remarkable results demonstrated through Fuzhi and Mengjie’s journeys provide compelling evidence of what Qigong can accomplish:

For long-term stress and thyroid problems: Daily practice can gradually restore balance and vitality, even over decades of illness.

For acute stress and stress-induced health crises: Regular practice creates resilience and the ability to recover faster from physical and emotional challenges.

For young people: Starting Qigong early builds lifelong resilience and health that serves you through adulthood.

For older adults: It’s never too late. At 81, Fuzhi is vibrant, energetic, and serving as an inspiration to others.

The Bigger Picture

In modern life, stress has become the baseline for many people. We accept constant tension, sleep problems, and stress-related illness as normal. We take medications, try stress management apps, and push through.

But what if there was a different way? What if you could actually train your body to handle stress differently?

That’s what Qigong offers. Not a temporary escape, but a fundamental retraining of how your nervous system responds to life’s pressures.

For Fuzhi, it meant going from secretly crying at night to smiling freely.

For Mengjie, it meant going from losing her hair from stress to recovering her health and confidence.

Both discovered that a healthy life doesn’t require eliminating stress—it requires learning to flow with it.

If This Resonates With You

If you’re also looking to improve the stress and health challenges in your life, consider exploring Qigong. Whether you’re dealing with stress-related health issues, emotional overwhelm, or simply want to build resilience for the future, their stories demonstrate what becomes possible with consistent practice.

The question isn’t whether Qigong can help—their 30 combined years of practice answer that clearly. The question is: when will you start?

Fuzhi has been practicing Bai Yin Qigong for 30 years and serves as a teaching assistant. Mengjie began practicing at age eight and continues her practice alongside her demanding career. Both featured in the “Youthful Radiance” podcast.
