A Story of Transformation Through Ancient Wellness Practice
Yu-Fang’s life looked successful from the outside. After thirteen years in government service, she was pursuing her doctorate while working in counseling, managing finances, and attending personal development courses. But beneath this packed schedule, her health was crumbling.
“I couldn’t straighten my lower back anymore,” she recalls. “I had a cold that wouldn’t go away for six months. I could barely breathe. Every evening I’d come home and need to use a nasal rinse just to get through the night.” She describes that period of her life with one word: miserable.
She had tried various fitness approaches—running, walking, Gyrokinesis—but nothing stuck. Her body was sending clear signals that something needed to change.
When Crisis Becomes Catalyst
Four years ago, a breast cancer diagnosis stopped Yu-Fang in her tracks. The shock forced her to examine what truly mattered in her life. She realized she had been chasing achievements rather than living authentically.
“Cancer woke me up,” she says. The diagnosis became an unexpected gift, prompting her to radically simplify. She let go of her doctoral dissertation, resigned from her government position, and kept only the mind-body-spirit work she genuinely loved. Her entire life pivoted 180 degrees.
Finding Qigong
Seeking ways to support her recovery, Yu-Fang consulted a traditional Chinese medicine physician who recommended Qigong. A close friend introduced her to Master Yin Quan’s online videos, and in early 2019, she enrolled in the HarmonyQi Stress Relief Technique course.
The timing proved crucial. After cancer surgery, she developed severe pain in her right arm. A manual therapy session went wrong, leaving her unable to lift her arm at all. Despite spending over a hundred thousand dollars on various treatments including PRP injections, nothing helped.
“In the beginning, I could only lift my arm slightly, keeping it bent,” she remembers. “But I practiced every day, imagining myself as a warrior.” Gradually, without even noticing the transition, her arm regained full mobility. The results were so dramatic that she immediately continued with systematic Qigong training.

Beyond Cancer: Unexpected Healing
While surgery had successfully treated her breast cancer, Yu-Fang still had multiple benign fibrocystic lumps in her breasts. Her sensitive digestive system couldn’t tolerate medications, and she experienced poor sleep, hot flashes, and allergic reactions. With her doctor’s agreement, she chose to rely on Qigong and traditional Chinese medicine instead of conventional medication.
The results astonished her medical team. Not only did the cancer stay away, but the benign lumps shrank with each follow-up appointment. The three to four lumps in her left breast disappeared completely, leaving only one in her right breast. As she approaches her five-year cancer-free milestone, she’s finally “graduating” from active monitoring.
Rediscovering What Health Means
Yu-Fang had always known health was important, but she hadn’t truly prioritized it. She ate mostly takeout, rarely exercised, and would often fall asleep in the living room immediately after dinner, exhausted from her day.
Qigong changed everything.
“I finally understood what real health feels like,” she explains. “No more menstrual cramps. Days filled with vitality. A natural desire to move my body. Abundant energy.”
The mental and emotional benefits proved equally profound. She developed greater resilience and the capacity to hold space for others’ perspectives. Interactions with loved ones became calmer and more peaceful.
The Transformation Continues
After completing the Five Elements Technique, Yu-Fang experienced an intense detoxification period—persistent rashes and itching as her body expelled accumulated dampness and toxins. It took nearly two months to fully clear, but the results were worth it.
Long-standing issues that had plagued her for years began resolving: menstrual pain that had required painkillers for over twenty years, hormone-related mood swings, winter dry skin and itching, frequent bloating, poor circulation, and chronically cold hands and feet.
Different Qigong practices offered different benefits. The LotusQi Heart-Nourishing Technique brought mental calm and stability. The EnerQi Dayan and YoungQi Rejuvenation practices specifically addressed physical ailments.
Neighbors commented on how much healthier and more radiant she looked. Even friends video-calling from Canada noticed her skin looked brighter and more luminous.
An Unexpected Gift: Mental Clarity
Perhaps the most surprising benefit was cognitive. Yu-Fang found herself feeling genuinely smarter. Books that had once seemed impenetrable suddenly made sense when she reread them. Sometimes the clarity moved her to tears or gave her goosebumps.
“Qigong awakened something in my mind,” she says. “If people our age can experience this, imagine what it could do for children’s academic performance.”
She describes her transformation using the 80/20 principle. Previously, she invested 80% effort for 20% results. Now she achieves 80% results with just 20% effort, freeing time for rest, enjoyment, and practice.
“If you want to become smarter and wiser,” she says with enthusiasm, “learn Qigong now!”

The Best Investment
Over the years, Yu-Fang spent over a million on mind-body-spirit courses and training programs. Yet she considers Bai Yin Qigong the highest value investment she’s made.
“Many programs cost hundreds of thousands and constantly release new versions you need to buy,” she notes. “Qigong requires one tuition payment but provides lifetime benefits.”
Beyond the financial value, Qigong offers something unique: it helps you slow down, live simply, and find genuine joy—the “3S life” of slow, simple, and smile. It elevates body, mind, and spirit simultaneously in ways other exercises simply don’t.
Living the Message
Whether serving in the Bai Yin Qigong community or encouraging friends to try the practice, Yu-Fang believes in leading by example.
“Your energy and presence influence others,” she says. “You must start with yourself—living beautifully, embodying health. That’s what’s truly convincing.”
To those already practicing Qigong, she offers this reminder:
“The best way to love yourself, your family, and the world is to practice every day.”
For those who haven’t yet discovered Qigong, she suggests this perspective:
“We never know when illness might strike. Why not choose a holistic practice that enhances body, mind, and spirit together? Learning Bai Yin Qigong is like having a treasure chest of tools always available to care for yourself.”
Yu-Fang has been practicing Qigong since 2019 and currently works in the counseling field.
