Bai Yin Lecture Hall โ Highlights from Group Practice on September 20, 2025 (Saturday)
Dear students, greetings! Iโm Master Bai Yin. Welcome once again to the Bai Yin Lecture Hall.
If you havenโt yet learned the YoungQi Anti-Aging Rejuvenation Technique, I highly recommend seizing the opportunity this year โ see the course introduction for details.
Last Saturday (Sept 20), during our physical group practice, Master guided students through the key points of practicing during the Autumn Equinox. Today, Iโm sharing some highlights with all of you.
The Autumn Equinox is a rare moment of perfect balance โ day and night are equal, Yin and Yang in harmony. As Yang energy gradually recedes and Yin energy strengthens, this time requires special attention to inner regulation, Qi balance, and harmonizing the five organs.
๐ The Five Elements & the Autumn Equinox
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Five Elements cycle โ Metal generates Water, Water generates Wood, Wood generates Fire, Fire generates Earth, Earth generates Metal โ governs balance among the organs.
Autumn corresponds to Metal, linked to the Lungs. The lungs govern Qi and respiration, and at this time are particularly sensitive. Properly nourishing Lung Qi ensures smooth energy flow throughout the body.
The lungs also share a unique connection with the Heart (Heart-Lung Interaction). While Fire (Heart) and Metal (Lungs) seem to restrain each other in theory, within the human body, they rely on one another: the heartโs blood circulation depends on lung Qi, while breathing is influenced by the heartโs spirit.
This is why I introduced the Crane Form for Heart Nourishment โ the ideal practice around the Autumn Equinox.
๐ Why โCrane Formโ to Nourish the Heart?
In the EnerQi Dayan Five-Element Technique, Crane Form corresponds to Water, which balances excess Heart Fire.
During the Autumn Equinox, when Metal (Lungs) is strong, Metal generates Water, and Water nourishes Wood โ making this practice the perfect way to harmonize Five Element energy.
Benefits of Crane Form:
- Physiological: Calms the heart, balances blood pressure, improves sleep.
- Emotional: Relieves anxiety, stabilizes mood, enhances focus.
- Energetic: Guides Heart Fire downward, Kidney Water upward โ Water and Fire in harmony.
- Spiritual: Cultivates inner tranquility, strengthens balance.
โจ Three Key Mental Principles of Crane Form for Heart Nourishment
- Focus on the Lower Dantian, Guide Heart Fire Downward
- Keep awareness in the lower Dantian as you practice.
- Imagine restless Heart Fire slowly descending.
- When arms spread like a craneโs wings, visualize guiding agitation downward to merge with Dantian Qi.
- Shift Between Full & Empty, Blend Water and Fire
- The shifting of weight between left and right legs mirrors the flow of Heart Fire and Kidney Water. Move with awareness of energy circulating in an infinite โโโ loop.
- Synchronize Breathing with Movement
- Inhale as wings expand, exhale as they close.
- Direct breath with intention: inhale cool Qi from the crown into the heart, exhale turbid Qi through the arms.
๐ Autumn Equinox Special Practice Plan
For seven days before and after the Equinox, practice Crane Form at these times:
- Morning (5โ7 am, Lung Meridian time): 3โ5 sets
- Midday (11โ1 pm, Heart Meridian time): 2โ3 sets
- Evening (9โ11 pm, Triple Burner Meridian time): 3โ5 sets
This schedule follows the Heaven-Human Resonance principle, maximizing results by practicing when organ meridians are most active.
๐ Five-Element Practice Essentials
- Relax emotions โ peace of mind ensures smooth Qi flow.
- Focus intent โ โwhere the mind goes, Qi follows.โ
- Keep breathing natural and unforced.
- Move with roundness and flow, avoiding stiffness.
๐ Autumn Equinox Wellness Tips
- Diet: Reduce spicy foods, eat more lung-nourishing foods like pears, lily bulbs, honey.
- Emotions: Avoid sadness (which harms the lungs), stay calm and uplifted.
- Routine: Sleep early, wake early, align with seasonal Yin-Yang shifts.
- Environment: Keep warm, especially neck and back, to prevent external โwind invasion.โ
๐ Key Takeaways
- Best timing: 7 days around Autumn Equinox, practice morning, noon, and night.
- Heart method focus: Lower Dantian awareness, weight-shift balance, breathing guidance.
- Five Element alignment: Metal generates Water, Water nourishes Wood.
- Core benefit: Crane Form balances Heart Fire and Kidney Water, fostering harmony.
โญ Master Bai Yinโs Insight:
โPracticing Crane Form during Autumn Equinox is not just about form โ it is about cultivating the heart. When you truly feel Heart Fire descending and Kidney Water rising, you embody the essence of the Five-Element Technique. Keep practicing daily โ there are no shortcuts in Qigong, only perseverance.โ
