Hello, everyone! I’m Master Bai Yin. Today is Day 5 of our Sanfu Group Practice.

If you’re feeling regret for missing the live sessions—don’t worry. What’s most important in Qigong is the mind method (Xīn Fǎ). And today, you’ll learn one that comes from my 37 years of teaching experience—a unique and powerful internal method that you can’t find anywhere else. Over the Past Few Days…

We’ve explored Sanfu wellness from various angles—cleansing, balancing, and nourishing. Today, we’ll learn something more direct and even a bit mysterious:
How to use sound to deeply clear heat and detoxify the internal organs.


The Invisible “Fire”: The Root of Summer Illness

During Sanfu, it’s not just the outside that’s stifling hot and humid—our bodies, too, are prone to internal “fires.” This kind of “fire” doesn’t show up on a thermometer. It’s a dysfunctional heat that arises from organ imbalance:

  • Heart fire: causes irritability, insomnia, and mouth ulcers
  • Liver fire: leads to impatience, anger, dizziness
  • Stomach fire: creates dry mouth, bad breath, excessive appetite but rapid hunger
  • Lung fire: causes sore throat, coughing with yellow phlegm

These internal fires often interact and reinforce each other. They deplete Yin fluids, disrupt Qi and blood circulation, and are at the root of many summer ailments—like heatstroke, digestive problems, and skin conditions.

Many people blame summer sickness on germs or viruses, but in reality, it’s often their own internal fire wreaking havoc.


Sound Healing Technique: Ancient “Sound Therapy” for the Organs

So how do we deal with this internal fire? Besides dietary adjustments, the ancients developed a brilliant technique called the Sound Healing Technique (Liù Zì Jué)—the heart of the method we’re practicing today, known as “Sound Healing Technique and Pigu Cleansing” (Liù Yīn Bì Gǔ).

This method is surprisingly aligned with modern physics:
Sound is vibration.
Every organ in the body has its own resonant frequency. By producing specific sounds, we can create vibrational resonance with the corresponding organs.

The six sounds—“xū, hē, hū, sì, chuī, xī”—were distilled over centuries of practice by our ancestors. They match the six main organ systems: Liver, Heart, Spleen, Lung, Kidney, and Triple Burner (San Jiao):

  • xū (shoo): Clears Liver fire. Gentle, elongated airflow helps release Liver stagnation.
  • hē (huh): Clears Heart fire. Wide open mouth releases heat from the chest and heart.
  • hū (hoo): Clears Spleen fire. Deep and resonant, it harmonizes digestive Qi.
  • sì (sì): Clears Lung fire. Soft and silky like a thread of breath, it moistens the lungs.
  • chuī (chway): Clears Kidney fire. Focused like blowing out a candle, it strengthens Kidney Qi.
  • xī (shee): Clears San Jiao fire. Since San Jiao governs water and Qi pathways, this sound unblocks all energy channels.

A Gentle Yet Powerful Inner Detox

When you practice today, don’t focus on being loud—the key is to feel the subtle internal vibrations, especially in the areas corresponding to each organ.

This is one of the core teachings of Bai Yin Qigong, and in my 37 years of teaching, I’ve found it to be one of the most direct and effective internal massage methods.


Use Sanfu to Give Yourself an Internal “Deep Spa”

If your internal fire isn’t cleared during Sanfu, it will gradually dry out your Yin, deplete your Qi and blood, and set the stage for autumn dryness and winter Yin deficiency.

But now that you’ve learned Sound Healing Technique, you hold a method you can use anytime, anywhere to cool the fire and detox your organs. Practicing during Sanfu—when the body’s channels are at their most open—will supercharge its effectiveness.


After Practicing, You May Immediately Feel:

  • Mouth moist, throat soothed: a direct sign that fire has cleared and Yin is rising.
  • Clear mind, open chest: once stagnant energy is released, uplifting Yang energy flows freely, relieving mental pressure.
  • Calm emotions, peaceful heart: with fire cooled, irritability has nowhere left to hide.

With the right timing, the right method, and the right mindset, this inner “spa” will bring you deep and lasting benefits.
