Day 2: Purification · Cleansing of Body and Mind
Dear Virtuous Technique (Da Cheng Gong) students, and beloved members of the Bai Yin family, greetings to all.
It is with great joy that we gather once again for Day 2 of the LotusQi Blessing Group Practice. Yesterday, we collectively sowed the seeds of hope and felt that initial stirring of excitement and boundless anticipation for what lies ahead. Is that power within still resonating in your heart? Today, we embark on an even more luminous journey with the theme: “Purification · Cleansing of Body and Mind.” This is a process of radiating from within, reconnecting with the pure essence of life.
The lotus has long symbolized sacredness and elegance. Its most admired and revered quality lies in its noble resilience — “emerging from the mud unstained, and rising through clear waters untainted.” In the opening of the Lotus Heart-Nourishing Technique, the story of “First Bloom of the Lotus” reveals the purity and clarity that originates from life’s very essence — sparkling like morning dew, untouched by dust. For a lotus to grow, it must push through dense mud — which symbolizes the inevitable challenges, worries, difficulties, and the emotional and energetic debris we accumulate consciously or unconsciously throughout life. It also represents old patterns, rigid beliefs, and negative energies that no longer serve our growth.
Yet, the lotus’ extraordinary wisdom lies in its ability not to be polluted by the mud, nor assimilated by darkness. Instead, it transforms the mud into nourishment for growth, drawing strength from it to blossom into greater purity and fragrance. Today’s practice of the Lotus Heart-Nourishing Technique is a powerful yet gentle purification process. Through each movement — opening and closing, deep breathing, stretching, spiraling, visualization — we engage in a profound cleansing of both body and mind, just like the lotus.
Take, for example, the movement “Lotus Seeding”:
We “clasp hands at the lower dantian, then open — all bodily ailments leave us;
clasp fists at the middle dantian (chest), then open — all negative emotions leave us;
clasp fists at the upper dantian (forehead), then open — all negative thoughts leave us.”
These are not just verbal affirmations but intentional visualizations. We visualize gently brushing away physical discomforts and stagnant energies like dust. We softly release long-held emotions like anger, sadness, and anxiety. We unravel negative thoughts and repetitive mental loops. Like the lotus shaking off muddy water, we cleanse the body of fatigue and turbidity, clear our minds, and release the imprints of negativity — returning to inner clarity, lightness, and peace.
Imagine your breath as a gentle stream flowing through a mountain spring — softly washing every corner of your body, nourishing every cell, and sweeping away old, stagnant, and heavy energies that no longer serve you. Each “gentle press downward” allows you to release inner tension and constraints. Each “opening of the palms upward” welcomes in pure, luminous energy and blessings from the universe. This is more than just physical detoxification — it is a spiritual renewal, helping us rediscover a childlike purity, curiosity, and joy for life.
Now, with a sincere yearning for inner cleansing and freedom, let us enter today’s practice of the LotusQi Heart-Nourishing Technique. In every movement, every breath, visualize yourself being purified and refreshed from the inside out — like a lotus after the rain: fresh, radiant, and naturally beautiful.
The Power of Collective Blessing: Why Bless? How to Bless?
Blessing is the act of focusing our hearts and magnifying our purest wishes. When we bless collectively, that energy becomes even more powerful — like countless drops converging into a mighty river, capable of breaking through barriers and creating transformation.
Today’s second line in our LotusQi Unified Blessing Affirmation is:
“Here, many wishes are carried — whether spoken or unspoken, they are all part of life.”
Why bless in this way?
This statement reflects deep understanding and unconditional acceptance. It reminds us that everyone’s wishes, whether openly shared or deeply hidden, are seen, respected, and honored. These wishes are part of our life stories — perhaps about personal growth, family harmony, career success, or compassion for the world. They are all real and all deserve kindness. Recognizing and accepting the presence of our wishes is the first step in blessing — and the beginning of healing.
How to bless for “Family”?
Today’s focus for blessing is Family. When reciting this line, you may guide your heart with the following:
- Connect with your family members:
Gently bring to mind your loved ones, and feel that deep bond you share. - Feel the family’s collective wishes:
Sense your own hopes for the family, and those perhaps unspoken by your loved ones.
Some may wish for smoother communication with teenagers, more understanding and less conflict.
Some may hope to resolve minor frictions or misunderstandings caused by daily life or differing views.
Others may pray for the health and companionship of aging parents.
Deep down, we all long for a family atmosphere as peaceful and warm as a lotus pond. - Visualize the lotus carrying these wishes:
Imagine a large, warm lotus gently cradling all these family wishes — the joyful hopes and the anxious concerns — fully embraced and uplifted. - Send out a purifying blessing:
May all negative energies, misunderstandings, and distances within the family be cleansed and transformed.
May the light of love and understanding shine into every family member’s heart.
May home be everyone’s most peaceful and loving refuge.
Practical Guidance: Integrating Purification into Daily Life
“Purification · Cleansing of Body and Mind” is more than a practice — it’s a lifestyle and mindset you can bring into daily life:
- Daily quiet purification:
Give yourself a few minutes daily to breathe deeply, visualize exhaling the day’s fatigue and negativity, and inhaling fresh, clean energy. - Tidy up your space:
A clean, organized environment supports mental clarity. Regularly declutter your home and workspace to create a vibrant energy field. - Acknowledge and release negative emotions:
When negative emotions arise, observe them rather than suppress or indulge in them. Express and release them through journaling, sharing, or light movement. - Be the Harmonizer in your home:
Bring your post-practice peace and clarity into family life. Speak gently, listen patiently. Encourage your family to practice “Magical Palm Trembling” together to experience joy and lightness after purification. - Promote “Flow to Stay Sharp”:
The public initiative from Bai Yin Contemporary Qigong featuring Amazing FlowQi Neuro emphasizes “Flow to Stay Sharp.” This helps clear mental fog, supports memory, and strengthens emotional bonds and parent-child interaction. - Support HarmonyQi Instructors in their purification mission:
Our HarmonyQi Instructors are like guardians of the lotus pond, striving to create a pure practice space and guide purification. Your appreciation is their greatest motivation. Continue to support them so they can share this cleansing energy with more people.
