Chronic fatigue can lead to serious health problems or mental issues if not addressed. According to Master Yin Quan, a qigong expert, fatigue often happens when the body’s energy (qi) is low, and there’s not enough strength or vitality. This can be caused by a lack of yang energy and poor circulation. Practicing qigong can help restore energy, boost vitality, and bring balance to both the body and mind.
Insufficient qi, weak constitution, low immunity
In traditional Chinese medicine, fatigue is often seen as a sign of deficiency. Individuals with a weak disposition—such as those with qi deficiency, blood deficiency, kidney deficiency, or heart and spleen deficiency—are more prone to fatigue. Chronic deficiency of vital energy not only weakens the body but also impairs immunity. If you frequently experience recurring colds, respiratory infections, allergic rhinitis, chronic bronchitis, asthma, chronic cough, or digestive issues like chronic gastroenteritis, these may be signs of a weakened constitution.
Master Yin Quan explained that when the body runs low on vital qi, it begins to draw from its stored reserves. Fatigue occurs when the depletion of qi exceeds the body’s ability to replenish it, reflecting a deficiency in vital qi. People with energy deficiency often appear weak, speak softly, and lack vitality and confidence. Additionally, due to the lack of energy in the body, they may experience frequent fatigue or back pain.
Kidney Deficiency: Disrupting Qi Production and Storage
In modern medical terms, the endocrine system, which includes the pituitary gland, thyroid, adrenal glands, ovaries, testicles, prostate, and other glands, is significantly influenced by kidney essence. In traditional Chinese medicine, kidney essence is believed to play a crucial role in regulating hormonal balance and supporting the function of these vital endocrine
organs.
Master Yin Quan, from the perspective of Qi management, highlighted that insufficient kidney essence weakens endocrine function and can lead to kidney deficiency. This deficiency disrupts the production, storage, and excretion of essence. For women, symptoms may include cold hands and feet, menstrual pain, irregular or light menstruation, or even amenorrhea. For men, it can result in back pain, leg weakness, reduced sexual desire, and potential reproductive issues, including infertility.
From an emotional perspective, energy deficiency can lead to feelings of anxiety and restlessness. In traditional Chinese medicine, this is attributed to the belief that "the kidney governs fear." Conversely, when kidney qi is abundant and kidney essence is strong, a person's willpower and decision-making abilities are significantly strengthened.

Activating the Spine; Nourishing the Bladder Meridian
Master Yin Quan highlighted that nourishing Qi and preserving essence is key for both men and women. He explained that the spine is like the body's main source of energy, helping to produce both blood and marrow. The bladder meridian, which runs along the spine, supports kidney function and boosts ‘Yang Qi’ in the internal organs, helping to maintain overall vitality.
Master Yin Quan said, "In the afternoon, our Yang Qi starts to decrease, and Yin Qi starts to rise. The key at this time is to focus on nourishing the bladder meridian and boosting Yang Qi, helping to refill our energy and blood, so we stay active and full of vitality.
In traditional Chinese medicine, the bladder and kidney meridians are connected, working together as an external and internal system. When the bladder meridian is strong and full of energy, it helps keep the kidneys functioning properly. However, if the bladder meridian is blocked and Yang Qi is not generated, it can cause a lack of energy and blood, weaken the kidneys, and lead to low energy, fatigue, and back pain.
Practicing Qigong focuses on activating the spine and waist, which helps preserve essence and regenerate vital qi, supporting the nourishment and refinement of essence. Master Yin Quan recommended that when feeling tired, practicing Qigong can open the bladder meridian, activate kidney Qi through the movement of the body, and fully unblock the spine. After just a few minutes, you'll feel warmth in your body, a slight sweat, and a noticeable boost in energy.
Transform Your Life: Student Testimonials on the Power of Practicing Qi and Nourishing Essence
Testimony by Mr Huang
Before I started practicing the exercises, I was constantly busy, working long hours, and under a lot of stress. My health was deteriorating. Even when I woke up in the morning, I felt weak and exhausted. My shoulders and neck were stiff and painful, and I had bad breath throughout the day. By the afternoon, I felt completely drained, like a deflated balloon, as if my energy had completely run out. On weekends, I had to work overtime, and if I didn’t, all I wanted to do was sleep. But even after resting, I would wake up with a headache. I began to feel like the only purpose of working was to pay for doctor’s visits. I started to wonder, is this all there is to life?
I’m an engineer and often deal with neck and back pain, along with tightness in my chest. When I started practicing EnerQi Dayan, I noticed results right away. First, the pain in my body started to ease, and it also gave me a way to relax and calm my mind. These improvements really motivated me, so I decided to keep learning Rejuvenation Technique, along with Advanced EnerQi and Turtle Longevity Technique.
It’s been over a year since I began learning these six exercises, and my favourite by far is Turtle Longevity Technique. However, to truly experience the relaxation and peace that Turtle Longevity Technique offers, I first needed to dedicate myself to practicing Rejuvenation Technique. So, I made it a point to practice Rejuvenation Technique every day, and over time, I found myself enjoying it more and more.
In the beginning, I felt sore and tired after each session, but as I continued, I gradually began to understand the core principles of Qigong. Now, not only do I feel energised after practicing Rejuvenation, but I also feel happier, healthier, and more vibrant. After 13 years of work, I had my first health checkup, and everything came back clear. When I checked again recently, my health was still in great shape.
Master’s teachings emphasize the importance of merit and virtue. Through practicing Qigong, I have strengthened my mind, found greater happiness, and improved the well-being of my family. It has also fostered a deeper sense of compassion and a natural inclination to help others. Our entire family is now part of the Bai Yin Qigong community. I would summarize my current experience with Qigong as 'the three releases'—relax, let go, and feel at ease.
Practicing Qigong has had a profound impact on my life. It has not only changed my work and rest patterns, encouraging me to go to bed earlier, but it has also motivated me to wake up at 6 a.m. every day to practice Qigong. As a result, my body feels healthier and more energetic, and I find myself more focused and productive at work. I no longer sleep in on weekends; instead, I wake up early to participate in team training. Previously, we enjoyed visiting department stores, but now my family prefers spending time at Eslite bookstores. Our diet has become lighter and healthier, and our children enjoy it as well. It’s clear that the lifestyle of our entire family has transformed for the better since we began practicing Qigong. While there are still occasional overtime work commitments, I make it a priority to return home by 9 p.m. and get to bed by 11.
I am deeply grateful to the Masters, and I truly appreciate the support from the teaching assistants. Words alone cannot convey how grateful I am. Learning Bai Yin Qigong has been the best decision and the most valuable investment of my life.
