Transforming Atopic Dermatitis into Radiant Health and Beauty with Bai Yin Qigong
Atopic dermatitis is a common skin inflammation that causes dryness, redness, itching, and scaling of the skin. This condition can significantly affect people's quality of life, leading to psychological stress and feelings of inferiority. Many patients search for various treatments, often without finding a lasting solution.
Zheng Fen is one such person who has struggled with atopic dermatitis for a long time. She has had this problem since childhood and has tried both Western and traditional Chinese medicine, as well as various home remedies, but with no significant results. Her skin condition severely affected her work and life, even prompting early retirement. She endured nightly discomfort and uncontrollable itching.
It wasn't until she discovered Bai Yin Qigong that she found a method to improve her physical and mental well-being. She practiced qigong daily and adjusted her diet and lifestyle habits. Gradually, her skin began to heal, and her mood became more calm and cheerful. Her story tells us that atopic dermatitis is not incurable; finding the right approach for oneself can lead to regaining health and confidence.
Atopic dermatitis is a lifelong torment.
I have suffered from it since I was young. This condition often causes my skin to be sensitive, inflamed, and flaky, severely impacting my confidence. I have consulted many Western and traditional Chinese doctors and tried various medications and skincare products, but none have worked. In high school, I would suddenly break out in acute hives on my face, which were painful and itchy. Every year, my flare-ups increased in frequency and severity, becoming a chronic issue.
During that time, I endured immense physical and emotional suffering. From my childhood to adulthood, my father would either take me to play or to see doctors on weekends. He didn't trust Western medicine, so I only used ointments and took Chinese medicine. Back then, Chinese medicine was expensive; seeing a doctor every couple of weeks cost over a thousand dollars, which was quite a sum over forty years ago. My aunt often said I was a walking "gold mine". As I grew older and earned money myself, I spent a lot on skincare and medical treatments, but saw little improvement.
During my bouts of atopic dermatitis, I often woke up in the middle of the night scratching, and in the morning, I would find blood stains on the sheets. It was severe at that time, but with Chinese medicine for nourishment, things improved somewhat. However, later on, I might have indulged in unhealthy food again and didn't exercise, so in high school, it flared up again. As time went on, the frequency and severity of my flare-ups increased.
I was working in a job focused on performance at that time, so I had a lot of pressure. Additionally, I tended to be impatient, and with young children at home who were still very small, many things didn't go smoothly, which made me more irritable. Sleep was also a problem because my skin was so itchy; I often couldn't sleep well and could only cover my face with a damp towel. Back then, before the pandemic, I wore a mask because my skin condition was so severe. Eventually, due to this reason, I retired early; I retired at the age of 50.
Finding a way out of adversity: discovering Bai Yin Qigong
I am grateful to my younger brother for introducing me to practice Bai Yin Qigong; it has been a turning point for me. He himself has skin and stomach issues, and also hypertension, although he didn't tell me about the latter. He simply mentioned that he felt improvements in his health and his conditions were getting better after practicing qigong. I thought, if this method could bring healing without medication, I should give it a try.
I started practicing diligently every day, and gradually, my skin condition improved. Now everyone can see that my skin is truly smooth and delicate.
I know it's because during that time when my brother's health improved significantly, I became willing to try it. I'm not sure exactly when he started practicing qigong or if he told me right away. I just remember I was suffering severely at that time, so I enrolled quickly. I approached it with a mindset of giving it a try because I had already tried all methods, including folk remedies and energy water. Western medicine had stopped working for me; I was only taking steroids, and antihistamines were completely ineffective, so I stopped seeing Western doctors.
I also took Chinese medicine, but I felt it wasn't effective because my body was too weak to absorb its benefits. Doctors also mentioned my kidney function wasn't good, so their treatments couldn't produce results. However, when I started practicing Bai Yin Qigong, I noticed changes in my body. I felt my qi and blood circulating better, and my skin improved. Doctors observed my progress too; they said my body had gained vitality, allowing their medications to help me. They were pleased and encouraged me to continue practicing qigong because they believed it was beneficial for me.
I've also seen many others whose bodies and moods improved after practicing qigong, which gives me more confidence and motivation.

My skin's journey to rebirth: the miracle of Qigong
I began practicing Bai Yin Qigong's "Palm Trembling" in April of 2018 and felt some changes in my body. However, during a trip to Okinawa in July, possibly due to adjusting to the environment, my skin suffered severe allergies—redness, swelling, and intense itching, which was very uncomfortable. Despite not giving up on qigong practice, by September, when I started practicing YoungQi, my instructor noticed my skin and felt I needed to pay more attention; it was the worst it had been.
I believe many factors besides qigong practice affect my skin, such as sleep, diet, mood, and more. I recall Master mentioning the importance of balancing nurture and restraint, so I tried to prioritize early nights and early mornings, consume bland foods, avoid allergens, and maintain a cheerful mood. However, I also found that sometimes spending thousands on blood tests didn't yield accurate results. Items I hadn't been allergic to before caused reactions later on, making me question the test's significance. Ultimately, I believe that when your body isn't healthy, anything can trigger an allergic reaction.
I find qigong practice very beneficial for me because it gives me strength and confidence to overcome difficulties. Every day, I dedicate 20-30 minutes to practicing qigong, whether it's "Palm Trembling," "YoungQi," or "EnerQi," I strive to do my best. Each technique has its unique characteristics and benefits: "Palm Trembling" enhances my Qi flow, "YoungQi" warms my body, and "EnerQi" makes me feel agile and light.
Sometimes, I feel the presence of Qi, like a force flowing through my body, which is very comforting. I also notice my skin gradually improving; the redness, swelling, and itching have reduced, and my skin has become smoother. I also consult with a Chinese medicine practitioner who agrees that qigong is beneficial for me. Therefore, I believe Chinese medicine and qigong complement each other well.
I don't quite remember if I ever cried during qigong practice, maybe once, but I think it was because I was deeply moved. Finding a method that can make me healthy was overwhelming for me. I felt last year the practice was very different. What I mean by different is, for example, when practicing "EnerQi," I truly felt like a martial arts heroine because the Qi sensation guided me. Even when I went out, I felt as if I carried a magical sword, walking lightly as if I had practiced lightness skill.
I believe sleep is crucial; good sleep leads to good skin and a good mood. So now, I try my best to ensure I sleep well and avoid exhausting myself or stressing too much. I feel this is essential for maintaining balance and health in both body and mind.

A Transformation the miracle of Qigong
I used to be a very anxious and tense person, frequently suffering from severe skin allergies that caused me extreme distress and pain. However, since I started practicing Bai Yin Qigong, I've been pleasantly surprised to find significant changes in both my body and mind. I've become healthier, more relaxed, and more cheerful. After retiring, I have ample time and abundant energy to devote to qigong practice, pursue my passions, enjoy happy moments with friends and family, care for others' needs, and appreciate the beauty around me.
I feel my quality of life has greatly improved, and my life feels fulfilling and meaningful. I consider myself fortunate and valuable. I believe my dedication to qigong stems from my own efforts and determination—giving myself a chance, believing in myself, holding firm beliefs, having clear goals, nurturing beautiful hopes, dreaming big dreams, and envisioning a bright future for myself.
Master Bai Yin's Advice: Release Emotions to Truly Heal from Within
Master Bai Yin mentioned that while Zhengfen's skin may appear flawless now, only she knows the depth of her suffering. Countless nights of itching and restlessness—no one could alleviate her pain. Pain can be numbed, but itching cannot. Even when asleep, her body continued to scratch and ache. The sensation of itching intensifies with changes in environment and mood.
Today, she appears calm here, which I believe is a testament to her own abilities and cultivation. She harbors no self-pity or anger; she exudes a sense of peace while recounting her story—a calm strength. She has navigated through so many difficulties on her own, and I think a significant reason for this is her father's deep love and care.
Zhengfen's father spared no expense to improve her constitution and treat her ailments. Her father's love has always nurtured and stabilized her emotions. This is why she can walk through life so peacefully now; her father has been a major factor. I eagerly anticipate Zhengfen's emotional release during her qigong practice in the future—expressing sensitive laughter and tears—because the scars of such illnesses run deep and leave marks on both the body and emotions.
I believe Zhengfen has a high emotional intelligence, which is a result of upbringing within her family. However, these emotional scars may resurface as one ages and vitality diminishes. Therefore, it's crucial for us to utilize qigong practices now to release emotions—whether through hearty laughter or heartfelt tears—to truly heal from within. While the external signs may have faded, the internal scars remain and can affect our physical health.
It's fortunate that Zhengfen's children do not have eczema, sparing them from the suffering and worries associated with it. I consider qigong practice to be the best method for balancing and regulating both body and mind.
The essence of qigong lies in consistent practice every day, where individuals engage diligently. Qigong serves as self-training and cultivation, capable of transforming our attitudes, thoughts, and behaviours. In this way, it can also prevent the causes of illness.
