When Your Body Ages Faster Than You Do
Feiping never imagined that at just over 40, she’d feel trapped in a 70-year-old’s body. But that’s exactly what happened—and her journey back to vitality offers hope for anyone facing a similar midlife health crisis.
The Day Everything Changed
It was 2018, and Feiping was working at a book fair, organizing stacks of books. Without warning, she heard a sharp “snap.” Searing pain shot through her lower back, as if someone had kicked her with full force.
Her body went rigid. She couldn’t move.
“Help!” she called weakly to her colleagues. “I can’t move. Please carry me to the storage room!”
They lifted her like a mannequin and carried her away. Tears streamed down her face as they tried massaging her back, but nothing worked. Eventually, they had no choice but to leave her there, hoping she’d slowly recover on her own.
When she finally managed to move a little, the pain remained unbearable. A colleague had to drive her to the hospital.
The incident shook her to her core. “I was only a little over forty,” she says. “How could I suddenly become immobilized like someone in their sixties or seventies?”
The Bathroom Reality Check
The back pain wasn’t her only wake-up call. Feiping discovered she couldn’t even use a squatting toilet without assistance. Once down, she couldn’t get back up without grabbing the support handles.
“What on earth had happened to my body?” she wondered.
That’s when she decided to take control. She began researching fitness methods online, looking for something that could improve her health while still feeling modern and enjoyable.
That’s how she discovered Bai Yin Qigong.
Starting with Skepticism
Feiping approached Qigong with cautious optimism—half-believing, half-doubting. Her health wasn’t terrible, but it certainly wasn’t good either. She lived with insomnia, frequent dreams, nasal allergies, obesity, migraines, and irregular menstruation. “I felt like a broken house with drafts coming in from every direction,” she recalls.
What happened next surprised her.
After just one month of practicing HarmonyQi Stress Relief Technique, she lost 3 kilograms. More importantly, she could finally use a squatting toilet gracefully—without fear of getting “stuck.”
The second month brought another 3-kilogram loss. Thrilled, she immediately signed up for more advanced courses.
The Transformation Unfolds
The changes that followed completely amazed her:
Migraines vanished.
She’d suffered from migraines twice monthly, often requiring painkillers or emergency hospital visits in the middle of the night. Now they’re gone.
Her menstrual cycle normalized.
Previously lasting half a month, her period now arrives every 28 days and lasts just 5 to 7 days. “I never knew menstruation could be this manageable,” she says.
Nasal allergies disappeared.
She used to go through half a pack of tissues every morning. Now her nose breathes normally.
Her temper improved.
She’s no longer easily angered and has learned to relax. “The people around me are relieved too,” she notes.
The Beauty of Convenience
What surprised Feiping most was how easily Qigong fits into a busy life.
“No matter how hectic my schedule, it only takes less than 10 minutes to practice the Palm Trembling, and it immediately relieves work stress,” she explains. “It doesn’t require any special space—you can simply stand in place and practice.”
For busy modern professionals, this convenience is transformative.
Every practice session brings an immediate shift. As soon as the music begins, her mood becomes calm and pleasant. Afterward, she feels refreshed and clear-minded. Even her steps feel lighter.
“When I look at my radiant reflection in the mirror, I often sigh with amazement,” she says. “It turns out I can still feel this young.”
The Secret to Consistency
Feiping admits that maintaining a regular practice isn’t always easy.
“Who wouldn’t rather curl up on the sofa watching shows and eating snacks?” she asks honestly.
What kept her going was the “333 group” created by Master Bai Yin. Although members don’t constantly watch each other practice, there’s an invisible sense of accountability that prevents giving up easily.
“Whenever I feel like being lazy, I remind myself: everyone else is working so hard. How can I fall behind?”
Through a combination of social support and self-discipline, she kept practicing. The “old body” that suffered from chronic back pain and could barely stand up transformed into an energetic, slender woman who moves with confidence.
A New Perspective on Age
Today, Feiping handles daily life with ease and walks briskly with confidence. She’s learned a powerful truth: age is just a number. What truly matters is how you care for your body.
“If you’re worried about your health,” she says, “why not try Qigong? Just like me, you may rediscover the vitality and confidence of your youth.”
From being unable to move at a book fair to reclaiming her youthful energy—Feiping’s story proves it’s never too late to turn things around.
